Dear CedaRest
Everyday when I clean my stalls, I think of the friend who first told me about CedaRest, and that I should write you a letter. Well, here it is:
On July 17, 1998, I purchased 100 bags of CedaRest for my 12/18 box stalls. I wish that I had purchased 50 more – and that's my ONLY complaint!!
I have to tell you that your product has performed beyond my wildest dreams. Living on a cattle ranch, July is high fly time. I had been going to the barn twice a day to fly spray my horses – they were miserable. The VERY next day I noticed that there were hardly any flies and a tail hardly even swished. WOW! The flies don't like CedaRest. What a perk!
That was just the beginning of the "miracle" of your fine product. I have been cleaning stalls for over 30 years, and of course, throwing my money out with the shavings. Eventually all of the shavings (and dollars) end up on the manure pile. I am very meticulous about cleaning my stalls every day, but the shavings go there in the end. Well, no more! PLUS – I spend LESS THAN HALF the time cleaning than I did with shavings! A scoop and a quick shake and the manure is in the rake and the CedaRest in on the floor. The manure tends to stay on top and not mix in like it did with shavings. Did I mention that I got tendentious so bad from sifting shavings that I literally couldn't clean stalls for about a year? Well, no more sore shoulders.
The CedaRest is so dust-free that my horses stay cleaner and I don't choke on dust while I'm cleaning. It stays in place and is always fluffy. And the SMELL! Even after 21 weeks and 4 days in these stalls there is NO urine smell. NONE. People can not believe how long I've had this product – and it still smells like cedar!
The next great thing is the way it performs in the mud. (Did I say mud?? Oh, that was LAST winter). I've thrown about half of my CedaRest out into the runs. Last year, my horses were ankle deep in slop. This year, wherever there is CedaRest, you'll find my horses high and dry! (No rubber boots for me this winter.)
I sincerely think that CedaRest is the BEST horse product since the hoof pick and Velcro on bell boots!! Every horse person I meet hears about CedaRest – some even ask if I'm on commission. Wish it were true! Thank you so much for making this product available in California. It has made my life so much easier... and I have so much more time to ride!!

Dear CedaRest
I switched from shavings to CedaRest during the summer when flies were at an all time high. My horse's legs were covered with flies, which were biting him so badly he had blood and scabs all over. I had tried every fly spray product on the market and he was getting fly-sprayed daily, with no improvement. I talked to everyone I could about solving this problem. To add to his misery, he had broken out in hives from an inferior batch of shavings.
The owner of the boarding stable told us about CedaRest, and we went for it! We hauled every little bit of shavings and sand out of his paddock, and laid in the CedaRest. It was so easy to install! The bags are much easier and lighter to handle than bails of shavings.
When we put our horse back into his "new home", the first thing he did was lay down and roll in the CedaRest. He was so happy. And here's the best part – by the next day his hives were gone and there wasn't a fly on him anywhere. We were amazed! CedaRest completely solved a terrible fly problem, plus he stayed so clean our grooming time was cut in half, and so were our "housekeeping" chores (not to mention the cost savings in not having to buy as much fly spray)!
We have two yearlings now, and we won't use anything other than CedaRest ever again. We tell everybody about it. If more owners would use it, we'd see a huge improvement in horse's health, in their well being and in boarding facilities. Than you for such a wonderful product that solves so many problems inherent with small outdoor paddocks.
